Migrant Learning Centres
Equipping the learning centres that teach migrant, stateless and refugee children on the Thai–Myanmar border — 16 centres supported since 2023.

Migrant Learning Centres teach more than the children of migrant workers. They also take in stateless children, refugees and others who cannot get a place in Thai public schools — and give them accredited coursework that can lead on to formal or higher education.
In June 2023 we started at Heavenly Home in Mae Sot, a centre for more than 85 children with seven teachers. Together with True Plookpanya we delivered digital learning equipment and supplies, funded new bathrooms (฿120,000), relaid classroom floors, painted desks, stocked the bookshelves and brought new bedding.
Each centre receives renovations, internet connectivity, a smart TV for interactive and tele-education lessons, learning supplies and online programmes — including UNESCO’s online library through the LearnBig app. Six centres in 2023, five in 2024 and five more in 2025 brought the total to 16, teaching more than 3,600 children — and we are raising funds to reach more.
This work is part of the Mobile Literacy for Out-of-School Children programme started by UNESCO and True Corporation, with the Migrant Education Coordination Centre of Tak Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, which oversees 64 learning centres in the province.
